I can relate to so much in your newsletter. I love # 2 of your outs. I am going to try that but I do need a new swim suit for spring break :). I also love the idea of exercise snacks. I work out in the morning but sit at a desk at work the rest of the day. I am going to start doing some sort of exercise every time I go into the restroom. My word of the year is Consistency!

I love the word ‘consistency.’ It feels strong and steady vs the frantic and overwhelming effort so many put into their January energy. And I am excited someone is with me on the clothing thing! It felt insurmountable last year when I first considered it and I was happy it felt right this year for me! Thanks for sharing your thoughts Kim!

So glad I have a place to still connect with you and continue to be joyfully reminded of how like-minded we are :) An in for me - more reading!! And maybe I should use Goodreads to track as I currently just use the notes app on my phone ha ha!

Reading is a great IN for 2025! Goodreads has saved me from re-starting books I forgot I read. I also love that I can follow authors and people I know will have great recommendations in my wheelhouse

Your sourdough looks beautiful! I spent last year “perfecting” yeasted artisan bread and recently began a sourdough starter. I’ll be baking my first loaf tomorrow! Have you made any baked goods with the discard?

Hi Vera, no I have not! I am still very much new in this adventure and I am trying to not take on too much at once! It’s been hard for me to throw away discard but I can only devote so much time bread-based items! And sourdough takes a lot of energy, but it’s SO worth it! What about you, any great discard recipes I should try??

I hear you! Definitely a labor of love. I haven’t tried baked goods yet but there’s a discard chocolate chip cookie recipe on the King Arthur website that I have my eye on.

Now that sounds like just the recipe I need to get excited about it…

How did you learn to make sourdough bread? I would like to learn but don’t know where to start

Hi Dahlia! Luckily I have a neighbor who gave me some of her starter and walked me through with kid gloves the entire way. But I’ve continued to find great support and tips in a great guy someone recommended to me - I think his page is called The Sourdough Journey and he has amazing youtube tutorials! Good luck! It’s so intimidating at first and you just have to be ok making imperfect bread…it’ll still taste great!! Good luck!!
